چکیده

Studies of the wheat Zymoseptoria tritici blotch (ZTB) status in different locations, on agronomic practice, and pathogen variability has not yet been studied Ethiopia. As a result, goal this study was to determine ZTB's distribution intensity, as well morphological isolates. In Oromia's central-southeastern region, zones districts were purposefully chosen, whereas kebeles determined via systematic sampling procedure. generalized linear model (GLM), mean comparison fixed effects examined using least significant difference (LSD) tests. Colony texture, shapes, colors used identify isolate variability. Pearson correlation examine relationship between disease intensity independent variable, multiple regression analysis estimate magnitudes association. A total 108 fields examined, with percent occurrence (88.9 100%) (77.8 recorded. ZTB significantly across (p 0.05) while severity 0.01). Weed infestation (r = 0.78 r 0.20) growth phases 0.72 0.36) had positive correlation, although plowing frequency -0.77 -0.43) negative incidence severity. There are 43 isolates classified into four colors, three textures, forms. The epidemics current research areas need more consideration they should be prioritized for integrated management. Our data suggest that weed control, soil tillage, crop rotation all effective ways mitigate ZTB.

Evaluation of Resistance to Zymoseptoria tritici Blotch andFusarium Head Blight in Some Genotypes of Bread Wheat

Using resistant cultivars is an effective method in management Zymoseptoria tritici Blotch and Fusarium Head Blight of wheat. This study was conducted to identify new sources of resistance to these diseases among a large number of Iranian cultivars and new wheat genotypes. The genotypes were cultivated in an augment design in the research farm of Aliabad Katoul Agricultural School. Artificial c...

Early molecular signatures of responses of wheat to Zymoseptoria tritici in compatible and incompatible interactions

Zymoseptoria tritici, the causal agent of septoria tritici blotch, a serious foliar disease of wheat, is a necrotrophic pathogen that undergoes a long latent period. Emergence of insensitivity to fungicides, and pesticide reduction policies, mean there is a pressing need to understand septoria and control it through greater varietal resistance. Stb6 and Stb15, the most common qualitative resist...

Quantitative expression analysis of candidate genes for Septoria tritici blotch resistance in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Septoria tritici blotch (STB), caused by the ascomycete fungus Mycosphaerella graminicola (asexual stage: Septoria tritici), is one of the most important foliar diseases of wheat. In this research, quantitative expression analysis of five candidate genes for the induction of resistance to STB (PR-1, Bsi, Msr, Per, and Ppi) was conducted in the wheat cultivars ‘Seri 82’ (susceptible) and ‘Fronta...

QTL mapping reveals complex genetic architecture of quantitative virulence in the wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici

We conducted a comprehensive analysis of virulence in the fungal wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici using QTL mapping. High throughput phenotyping based on automated image analysis allowed measurement of pathogen virulence on a scale and with a precision that was not previously possible. Across two mapping populations encompassing more than 520 progeny, 540,710 pycnidia were counted and their ...

Characterisation of an antimicrobial and phytotoxic ribonuclease secreted by the fungal wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici

The fungus Zymoseptoria tritici is the causal agent of Septoria Tritici Blotch (STB) disease of wheat leaves. Z. tritici secretes many functionally uncharacterised effector proteins during infection. Here we characterised a secreted ribonuclease (Zt6) with an unusual biphasic expression pattern. Transient expression systems were used to characterise Zt6, and mutants thereof, in both host and no...
